Really nice boot. Form fitting, can adjust the laces and then zip right up. Would recommend purchasing a 1/2 size up from your normal size if you wear heavy socks. They are much lighter in weight than the average heavy snow boots. They have good traction soles.

FIRST REVIEW (September, 2012)

Having recently moved from the South to New York I needed a good pair of winter shoes for the snow and cold. These boots deliver! They are incredibly comfortable and really really cute. I haven't tested them out in the cold yet, but wandering the house (minus socks) made me toasty warm.

I typically wear between a 6.0 and a 6.5 but opted for the 6.5 and I'm glad I did. I have just enough room for a thicker pair of socks. I am a petite person at 5'1" and rather thin the boots hit at a great spot a little higher than mid-calf on me. I am able to tuck my skinny jeans into the boots and have enough room to zip them up.

All in all it was a great purchase!! Totally comfortable and super cute!

UPDATE (July, 2013): After wearing these for a full New York Winter season I am MORE than happy with how they have held up. They are so incredibly warm and I rarely wear them with socks. The lining keeps my feet toasty warm and I never find myself sweating in them. My **only** complaint is that I've fallen a few times in them due to slipping on ice. Now this could be because I'm an idiot from the South who has never mastered the art of ice walking, or because the sole isn't grippy enough. I doubt it is the sole because the sole is packed with ridges and grippy-ness ;-) All in all, I'm thrilled with these boots and can't recommend them enough!

These are really nice boots. I got them at dillards. but they are narrow in the calf area. not for a large calf.

love merrel boots. I have 3 pairs. I also lik bass boots.for snow.

very warm and comfortable. need to be wider in the calf area.

I teach horseback tiding, so i am on my feet for hours at a time in the cold, mud and snow. These boots keep me very warm and my feet stay dry but needs better arch support

I tried these boots on in an outdoor store and immediately fell in love with them. I wasn't thrilled with the price, but I was thrilled that they were sold for at least $20 cheaper through this seller.

I live in Wyoming and with winter fast approaching, I am in need of some sturdy, fashionable boots. These are definitely the winners. I compared them to Sorels and I found that these Merrells are much more comfortable, fit my feet better when walking down a steep slope, and are much more stylish and much less bulky. No need to wear multiple pairs of socks with these babies, just one pair of regular cotton ankle height socks are plenty.

One recommendation is to leave the top lace hooks unlaced and loosen the other laces, making zipping the sides of the boots when wearing jeans much much easier. I usually wear between size 8-9 in women's shoes and ordered an 8. They fit perfectly.

One drawback is you might not be able to zip them easily if you wear flare jeans or large boot cut. I ordered a pair of jeggings just to wear with these boots on lazy morning where I don't have the energy to zip the boots.
