I bought these boots in Saddle because I already had them in black and loved them. They are fully lined, which I like, and are very comfortable. One reason I got them is that I have low arches and when I walked in the Heath boots -which were a similar height -my foot came right out of them. So I wanted the strap over the instep, which seems to help; but it may be because these boots aren't as roomy through the instep to begin with. The reason I'm giving them only four stars is the welt. It protrudes in front of the toe more than I would like, and give the boots a clunkier look than I like. My black boots have a roomy toe box like the these saddle boots, but the welt doesn't stick out as far -not far at all, actually. I will say that the picture is very representative of the boots. They look exactly like the photo. It's just that I figured they would be exactly the same as my black ones "in person", and they're not. They run plenty full, but I wouldn't say they run large. I'm normally a 9 and I bought a 9. I would like them to be slightly smaller, but am not at all sure that an 8.5 would be large enough so I didn't bother trying the smaller size. Hope this helps.

To me, the Rogan has a similar fit to the original Engineer. My size does vary from style to style when it comes to Frye and in these, as well as the Engineers, I wear a 7.5. If it helps, I wear an 8 in the Veronicas and 7.5s in Carmen and the original Harness. Instantly comfortable, this is one of my favorite Frye styles in my whole collection! The first time I put them on, I was walking around for hours and my feet didn't hurt. They really required NO 'break in' time. I have them in both brown and black and not only is the leather very high quality but the studs are as well. I haven't lost one yet!

The only thing I will note is that the white, distressed finish does come off if you polish these. No big deal but if you are partial to that characteristic, leave them be and let them get scuffed up.

These boots are made of high quality leather with very comfortable rober soles. The leather is thick and soft. They just need a few minutes to break in. Like most Frye boots, they are running half size larger.

These boots are some of the most comfortable Fryes I've tried. They seem a little wide but a nice insole should fix that. The leather is thick but soft, so it should wear well.

These boots do come with a heavy white wax coating that makes them look MUCH different from the picture, which is why I removed a star. However, you can polish a lot of it off, though it may take a few rounds to get it to look like the product photo. These boots were a great price though so well worth the effort.
