Love the way these boots look, however after wearing them 3 times can not seem to break them it. There is a very thick seam that hits inside the boot right at the bottom of my ankle bone. Even with very thick or multiple pairs of socks, the seams still rub off the skin on my ankle so I can't even wear these boots for more than an hour or two at a time. Hoping they will eventually break in.

I was previously a BIG Frye fan! They were made in the USA of quality leather, always held up for years and years, and have the styles I love. The last two pairs of Frye boots I've purchased have been very dissapointing. The company moved their manufacturer to Mexico. In my opinion, the materials and craftsmanship no longer warrant the hefty pricetag or reflect the previous quality of their boots. I purchased the Tranpunto in "dark brown". When they came, they were sprayed with some kind of waxy, white material that I'm sure was meant to make them appear distressed. Whoever was manning the sprayer didn't know what they were doing and sprayed all the hardware and parts of the sole. The boots were very uncomfortable and ran large. It's a major bummer because I want the OLD Fryes back! I returned this pair and ordered a pair of Enzo Angiolini boots for half the price that are 3 times as comfortable.

After hours and hours of online shopping and multiple returnsthe Paige Trapunto Boot is the Perfect boot for me!Very high quality leather with a worn look, but still able to pair it with dresses. I have slim(but not super skinny) legs and they do not gape around my calf.I normally order an 8 in boots but ordered the 7 1/2 and they fit perfectly with some extra room for a thick sock.

I love boots I have them in all styles and many colors, and are a staple in my wardrobe as a stay-at-home mom who is on the go all the time but wants to be comfortable as well. These boots are normally not the slim style I like but they were worth a look because they are soft and well made.

Frye boots usually run true to size or even a bit snug. This is not the case of the FRYE Women's Paige Trapunto Knee-High Boot which runs about half a size larger and a bit wide. With thin socks, they did not fit my foot well as it is a true size medium width with high arches. The ankle and shaft portion is generous, with no support, such that one can put a hand all the way down the shaft up to the top half of the foot. It might fit someone with wider feet and/ or calves.

The roomier fit might be on purpose, come to think of it, any smaller would actually be too snug with thick socks, which do help if you don't need the arch support. This said, I'm still trying to decide if I should keep them or not, as they are still quite expensive (even on sale) to not fit right off the bat like all my other boots.

If you're considering them, these are some things you may want to know. The boots are made in Mexico and overall are good quality; they appear to be discontinued as they are no longer found on the company website but on ebay and other online retailers in more colors than offered on amazon. It has a handcrafted look with rivets on the outside. No zip back, just a decorative leather strap with vintage metal rings on each side (is that green Crayola on the patina?) The inside is lined with leather. The non-removable insole is cushioned but offers no arch support.

The hand-stitched leather sole is a bit slippery until broken in, like all Frye boots. The stacked heel has a thin rubber insert that will provide stability and some traction. You may want to resole them with rubber if you plan to do a lot of walking.

If you are looking for a boot with a slimmer fit and more support, try FRYE Women's Melissa Back Zip Knee-High Boot. I have the shorter version and really like how well they fit. You can also try Sebago Women's Saranac High Boot which has the same type of thick leather as the Melissa boot but with a slimmer fit, waterproof finish, rubber sole, and leather and wool lining. The latter is more of a fall and winter boot for heavy duty wear I got them in black and they are very nice as well, at a fraction of the price of these Frye boots.

In all, this Frye model is a great boot, provided you get the right fit and the price is right. Otherwise there are many other great boots you can get for much less.

Nothing screams fall like a gorgeous pair of burgundy Frye boots ...Chic and Comfortable! Perfect for standing all day at the kiddies sporting events. And countless people stop me to ask where they can get a pair. I normally wear a 9 but order my Frye boots a 8.5, when with thick socks they fit perfectly.

LOVE it! LOVE it! LOVE it!
