I bought the size I wear and they fit fine. If you plan to wear thick socks a 1/2 size up would be best. The laces are thick. I guess this is why some folks think it takes to long to lace them. I just loosen the laces all the way down to my foot and I can slip them off and on okay, no big deal.
I spend a lot of time outside taking care of horses and these boots work great. They are tough and light weight. I have worn them in the snow with temperatures in the teens and my feet stayed warm. Even better, I've been in melting muddy snow and my feet stayed warm and dry.
One thing did surprise me, each boot had a paper inside that said the fur was from Australia, the boots were 'assembled' in China, and the soles are 40% recycled material.
