I am pleasantly surprised by these boots. I was skeptical of them, figuring that they were just another passing fashion fad (and an expensive one, at that), but found myself looking for some really warm boots to wear for a trip to cold country, so I broke down and ordered some. Well, I put them on after they arrived, and I can't believe how comfortable they are. They are warm and toasty and unbelievably, incredibly comfortable. I still think that they are too expensive, but very wearable. Oh, I usually wear a size eight, but heard that they run large. Got a seven and fits great.

I bought these Ultra Talls and lived in them every winter for 12 years. Finally I bought a pair of Emus last year because they're cheaper and seem to be holding up well. My friend has a size bigger foot than mine so I gave the Ultras to her. "Wow! Some Uggs?? Thank you!!" (sniff)

There are a few more years left in them and they still look great, especially after a brushing and water proofing...lug soles will probably outlive me. I would recommend these if you want some boots that will last you a long time. They're most definately worth the money in the long run. But get a half to a full size smaller for sure. As these do stretch.

I put some regular insoles under the Uggs shearling insoles. It gives me plenty of arch support and keeps them from slipping up and down. I recommend replacing the shearling insoles every winter to make up for some of the stretch which is normal. Got mine here...worth the few bucks to make them feel luscious all over again.

Another thing I like about them is they're a little bit more slimming on the foot than the other similar brands. Maybe not so good for wider feet? They are tough. The extra reinforcement on the toe and heel does protect them better, and the bead around the foot is rubber rather than fabric (like on my Emus, which eventually comes undone), so rubber bead is a good thing...like a bumper. I paid $150 for mine in 2000. These are out of my price range now, although they're much cheaper here than on UGGS site, but if you've got it to spend, they're worth it.

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my mother who is always cold. I've had a pair for over 4 years and still going so decided to give her some. She loves them and wears them inside and out. The only way these could get better is if they were waterproof. But they do well for city weather, not so much for trekking around in the snow, though 1-3 inches of snow and they do fine. They really do keep your feet very warm.
