While I measure 5'5", I have 9-10 size shoe. I have a tough time finding boots that fit me in the calf. I purchased this boot in 9.5 and found that the circumference of 16.5 was way mtoo big and 1.5" larger than what is indicated in the general description for this product. I purchased the size 9, and it fit much better with just under 16" circumference. My calf circumference is 14.5 so there is still a bit of room around, but overall it works. The boot itself is great! Beautiful design and made well. Also, the heel is higher than I thought, but is still really comfortable. I'm just not sure that I can wear these while I'm riding my bike to work. Arturo, well done. Ladies, I ask you to join me in posting the circumference of boot calves with your shoe size in reviews, especially if you have the same problem that I do. Thanks!

I chose these boots due to the previous reviews. I'm 5'6" and 140lbs, but have wide calves so I thought this would be a good fit for me. I typically wear a size 9, but they were out of that so I ordered a 9.5. Once it arrived I was extremely satisfied with the crafstmanship of the leather boot, however it wouldn't fit on my feet without a lot of discomfort and pain. The shoe area of the boot is very, very narrow. I returned the 9.5 for a size 10, hoping these would be better. Nope. I ended up with a too narrow, too long boot, and sadly had to return them.

On the upside, the calf area fit me... so if you have REALLY narrow feet and non-stick legs calves, I do recommend this boot. Otherwise, don't.
