I live in Wisconsin and haven't owned a casual boot for winter since I was 9 (I always wore sneakers, unless I went ice fishing, that I have a pair of LaCrosse boots for) and set out to buy a pair of UGG's. I was willing to spend more on a good boot and did a ton of research before deciding on the EMU's, and I'm so glad I did! They are true to size, I am able to wear them with some lightweight socks as I don't like wearing any shoe barefoot except sandals, warm enough and yet cool enough so my feet don't sweat in them, cost less than UGG's, have great traction and cute to boot!
When it's time to go ice fishing this winter, I'm also going to see how long they last on the ice before I need to switch to my LaCrosse's. I will update this review then.
UPDATE:
I didn't ice fish last winter, but the EMU's never let my feet get cold at ALL for general, everyday use.
