I thoroughly recommend these pair of boots. They fit accurately and through the calve. They are slim, but not tight. If you have larger calves, the elastic will allow for some give. I typically have a problem with boots looking to clunky around my narrow calves; however these boots have a much more slender appearance than any Steve Madden riding boots I have tried.

After looking for literally YEARS my search is finally over!! I have big feet (9.5) but comparably small calves (14.25"). Finding tall boots that fit my feet while not gaping in the calf has been impossible til now! Beware, however, as this boot runs a full size lg (an 8.5 fits me perfectly) and is quite narrow in the foot bed. They are beautifully constructed, and like most fryes are a bit tight in the foot width wise but stretch w wear. They are form fitting in the calf but also fit well over leggings, jeggings, or skinnys. I bought the black and they are perfect, not shiny and not too dull. I also had no problems getting them on and off. A definite investment but worth every penny knowing I'll have them for a lifetime given the quality. If you have lg but thin feet, thin calves, and long legs, search no more, bite the bullet, and try this boot! :)

I have the Frye Erin boot in a 6.5 which is my normal size but it was still a bit large. I ordered these boots in a 6. They came and were goregous! The cognac color is a beautiful brown but the fit was really odd. The shaft was tight and I felt like my circulation was being cut off. I tired these boots on while in shorts so if the shaft area was already tight with bare legs, then there would be no way to wear these boots with tights or jeans. The foot bed fit fine but the ankle area was really loose. Pulling them off was really hard. At one point, my foot was stuck in the shaft. Anyway, I really wanted to keep them as they were so different, classy, and simple but it was just too tight.

Due to an accident some years ago, I have one calf that runs larger than the other by a full inch as I tend to overcompensate with my good leg. Let's just say it makes it very hard to find a boot that fits correctly on both legs. Since this boot has the stretch panels, I don't have to worry about one boot being loose and the other being tight! The boot conforms to my calves regardless of the size difference. However, they do run big. I would size down a half size if not a full size from your normal shoe size. These are also taller than your typical Frye boot and they come right up to my knee (I'm 5'7" with an average frame) so be warned if you have slightly shorter legs. They may ride up too high behind the knee.

I was searching for the perfect riding boot, and this was nearly it. It has a skinnier calf (because of the elastic gore) that worked great on my thinner legs, and the leather is gorgeous. However, I just couldn't fall in love with the foot shape somehow I'm not sure what it was, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it made my size 10 feet look bigger. For smaller feet, I bet they'd look great. But for the money, I couldn't justify keeping them so back they went.
