The boot leather felt thin, the straps across the top flapped loosely and seemed as if they would easily catch on various obstacles. Boot fit was loose in length and super tight in width. I do have a wide foot, but order a 1/2 size larger boot which usually compensates. In this case, it did not. I looked around a lot for some leather combat-ish boots for my daughter. These looked good. And, they came in just 2 days -even during the busiest shipping days if the year. She likes them. I believe these boots were $24.95 when I placed my order which makes them a great deal. However, when the boots arrived they truly looked and felt like a pair of PVC boots purchased on sale for $24.95. Because these boots are actually leather, I suspect they will be as hard-wearing as leather and you won't have to worry about them warping like vinyl. Still, the quality of the "distressed leather" is that of a poorly realized suede that's very unpleasant to the touch and doesn't look too hot either. Perhaps these boots look better in the other colors. The others photographed much better than the black, but black is what I needed and it was the cheapest (I think). I was hesitant to get these after reading the reviews, but now I'm so happy I did! They fit great! I had no issues with them being small or narrow, as others stated. I ordered my usual size. They are perfect.
