so full disclosure: i'm a woman. i bought the men's version of these shoes because a) they happened to be $10 cheaper than the lady version for some reason, and 2) because i have crazy feet that sometimes respond better to men's shoes because of their wider structure and generally less constricting toe box.

NOW onto the review!

i have flat feet with planter fasciitis in both (ugh! read: a lot of pain!!!!) PLUS i live in NYC, where lots of walking is an absolutely must. unfortunately, my feet don't do so well with such daily rigor. i was searching for something that i could wear all day long that was fashionable and comfortable at the same time. a friend of mine is a die-hard fan of palladiums and i had heard some shoes that had a similar look (that will remain nameless here) had a tendency these days to fall apart. i didn't want that! so after a lot of comparative shopping online and in person, i took a chance on these! they had nothing but positive reviews all around and i loved that they were convertible (low or high top).

all in all, buying these boots was the best decision i have ever made for my feet. i have enough room for my orthodic inserts (wow, that makes me sound like an old lady ha!) and i can walk all day long on concrete with zero pain.

the only drawbracks are very minor. they are easy to break in, but on the first day, if you have larger calf muscles, they may get a little scratched from the upper section of the boot if you wear them as high tops. however, after the first day, this wasn't a problem. also, just because of the convertible structure of the shoe, the tongue is always moving around (left or right) even if i have the boot laced up all the way to the top. but that's ok! it gives me a more edgy look, which works out well!

I bought this shoe last year and found that it has the best leather quality of any fashion heritage shoe brand. Also, I expected the boot to be heavy; but found it surprisingly light and comfortable.
