I have an older pair of Sorels that I love! I wanted to find a replacement because they have started to leak in a few places, but these new Sorels are just too wide. I had to return them because I felt like I had duck feet. My Sorel boots have been with me for two months now and I really enjoy the color and height of the boot, but they provide no warmth for feet that will be outside for longer than 20 minutes. This is a great "around town" boot, but if you are looking for something to wear in snow and for hikes in the winter in snowshoesI would suggest finding a different boot. I purchased these boots for my adult daughter, who needed them for upcoming winter travels to Vermont and the Netherlands. She had tried these on at a store in New York City but Amazon had them at a much cheaper price (there was a special discount at the time I bought them--not sure if the discount is still available). She's now worn them for both of those trips as well as for regular use (no snow) at home in Maryland and is completely satisfied. She says they are comfortable even when worn on hikes. They seem very well made so hopefully will last a long time.
