These boots are made of a high quality leather and are lovely and chick with their sassy side buckle detailing. I have a hard foot to fit but the size 8 wide feels like it was made just for me. Very comfortable to wear all day at work and continue to evening activities too. The high quality stacked heal is the perfect height for all day wear. They have a good grip bottom too so I have no worries of slipping. This boot looks awesome in both dress slacks or to dress up a pair of jeans. Clarks have always had a good reputation of lasting a long time so the price for these boots is very reasonable. This is currently my favorite boot for all occasions and I plan to wear the heck out of them!

So comfortable, it doesn't need to be "broken in". The ankle shaft is a bit wide, but it's okay with me since I do have big ankles. I would rather have it a bit wide than tight. Goes great with long pants/jeans.

Right out of the box, these good-looking ankle boots in 7W fit my feet like a glove--and I have very wide feet with defined arches. The color (more reddish-tan than the online photo or the description "brown") goes well with my black or earth-tone casual slim-ankle pants. (I don't wear jeans, but they'd probably look great with denim.) Heel height is perfect for this Woman-of-a-Certain-Age to be fashionable & to be comfortable all day, standing and/or walking on fairly level ground. As other reviewers noted, they are wider than most ankle boots, flaring forward rather than tapering from toe to ankle, so wearing them while driving in commuter traffic is not comfortable--I feel the top of the right boot, especially when switching pedals, and I have to find a good position for my left foot so I don't feel the top of that boot. Same problems occur when I'm climbing stairs. Hence, only 4 stars, even though I don't climb many stairs or do much driving in heavy traffic; but I'm sure I can't recommend these for airline flights, either. (Compare with 5 stars for my Aerosole Aerolite suede ankle boots and Aerosole Patrole Car Bootie ankle boots, both in 7W from amazon, which conform to the shape of my feet & ankles as if they were custom-made. I've worn them comfortably while driving for hours, while maneuvering stairways & hilly sidewalks, and also during cross-country flights.) Still, I'm happy to wear the Clark's Society Fashion ankle boots!

Update 8/9/13 -Removed one star because the boots had to be repaired last week, after only once-a-week wear. One heel tip had apparently fallen off without my knowing it--I'd been surprised to find the thing on the car floor days after having worn the boots while running errands. The cobbler I've relied on for the past 20 years said the heel tips were made of cheap material--which, he said was too bad, because the boots were otherwise of good quality & good-looking. Both heel tips were replaced with ones that look better than the originals.
