So I bought a pair of Frye boots (for $180) and when I received them they were too big. I had to return them (no exchanges allowed), and when I went to buy the smaller size, the price of the boots went up to $238! So that's when I did some researching and found these FANTASTIC boots. I bought these for about 100 buckswhat a deal! When I opened up the box I was extremely happy with the boots; I can tell they are very high quality. I bought the Gaucho Distressed Leather and the color is awesome. And they smell sooo good, to boot! (pun intended) What can I sayI am one of those who loves the smell of good leather.

DO NOT spend the extra money on Frye, these boots are just as niceactually I think they're nicer. And, as others have suggested, buy 1/2 size smaller. I was leery but I got the 7 and it fits perfect (I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 8). Plus, my mom grew up in Durango, Mexico, so that makes the boot that much cooler (even though they're made in...China? Okay, a point deduction for that). Anyway, buy the boots, you won't regret it. Happy Holidays!

January 14, 2012: Follow-up review...so after a having these boots for about a month, I have worn them a good 10 times or so. As I mentioned, I bought the boot 1/2 1 full size smaller than what I usually wear. The boot was still loose in the back when I tried them on but there was a flyer in the boot box explaining that it normal for it to be a little loose and that it should eventually take the shape of your foot and would form a tighter fit after wearing them. Well, unfortunately they have not improved in terms of fitand I recently got a really bad blister on my heel due to my foot moving around too much. I took them to a shoe repair shop yesterday and they're going to try to address the issue for me, hopefully they can since I love these boots. So I would suggest to consider ordering 1 1 1/2 smaller than you usually wear. I think I should have returned them for a 6 1/2 (I typically wear 7 1/2 8) unfortunately I thought it would resolve itself. Just something to think about if you order these boots.

Beyond expectations! Great for motorcycle riding, stylish looks, lots of compliments, rugged,strong, and will last forever. Sizes run 1/2 larger, exchanged them with no hassel. Company was great. Best boot I ever had. The distressed gaucho is a wonderful color. Want a pair in black also. Comfortable fit. They make you strut your stuff!

These really are fantastic boots! The style is great really nice looking and you can tell they are made of high quality materials. There was absolutely no break in time required they were incredibly comfortable from the minute I put them on. They fit very true to size I did not need to order down as others have stated. The leather is premium quality, thick but supple. They are fully leather lined too, not like some boots that use cheap synthetic linings. I found there to be plenty of room in the toes and the width was just right when wearing regular socks (they would probably be snug if you were wearing really thick socks). The shaft comes up to about midcalf and is not overly wide. The sole / heel is a heavy duty durable non-slip rubber and the heel is fully nailed which means they will last a long time. They are very easy to walk in too, not "clompy" like some boots can be. Overall I'm extremely happy with these boots Durango has always made great boots and these are no exception.

I ordered these boots a few weeks ago and they are now my favorite pair of shoes/boots/foot gear. They are so stylish but more importantly, super comfortable. I can wear them with NO socks even. They slip on very easily and for me, there was no break in time. I never developed blisters or any problems due to breaking in a new pair of leather shoes. I have eyed a similar pair in Sundance Catalog for years, but they retail $225. I also like the look of other popular western brand shoes, but the price on these was unbeatable, and I have to say the quality and feel of them has me won OVER. I typically wear a 7.5-8 in running shoes but with boots I wear a 7 7.5, I ordered these in a 7.5 and they are exactly right for me with socks or tights. Five stars!!
