I actually visited a Keen store the other day to try on a different pair of boots and on a whim tried these on in brown as well (the store didn't have black, so I wound up buying the black for a substantially better price here on Amazon sorry Keen!) and LOVED them. I was originally looking at the Silverton boot because I didn't think this boot was going to zip over my gigantic hiking calves. Turns out, they BOTH fit, just about perfectly. I liked the styling on this boot substantially more, too.
What do I love about this boot? First of all? Waterproof. I live in Portland, OR and I walk around the city a LOT so having a boot I can wear, regardless of weather, is awesome. I have another pair of black leather knee-high boots, but they have heels, and I really wanted a flat pair for more daily use and these TOTALLY fit that bill! They're Keens, so they're very comfortable, and wide enough for my feet, too. I LOVE the more rugged sole of these, which will come in handy when confronted with wet leaves or mud. I have a very high in-step, and these STILL go on my feet and don't rub the tops of my feet the wrong way.
I will say, the ankle of the boot is oddly...roomy. Almost...slouchy? They're perfect to wear over a pair of skinny jeans with the bottoms cuffed but really the ankle is nearly as wide as the top of the boot. (Cankles? Yeah, you're covered.)
I wear anywhere from an 8.5 to 9 depending on the shoe, and though most of my Keens are an 8.5, I did have to go with a 9. The 8.5 was snug in a weird way if you're between sizes, I'd say go up the half size (or go try them on at a store to confirm!). Overall, these are just what I needed flat, black, nice enough to wear out to dinner (well, in the PNW anyway), and casual enough for daily wear. I predict I beat the crap out of these boots in the next few years!

i was pretty disappointed in the fit of this boot, it was much more roomy and loose around the ankle than what i anticipated. It felt like i was wearing gumboots. I took the advice of the keen website on sizing and went up half a size, but this also made it too big. I had to return the boots sadly, ugh, all the was from New Zealand! ha ha, a lesson learned I guess.Buy Keen Women's Shelby High Casual Boot Now
This boot has the potential to be comfortable. But, the slouchiness in the ankle rubs on the top of my foot. This is really uncomfortable and with a lot of walking will be pretty bad. I did like the boot but didn't work for me. Maybe for a wider foot and someone with thicker ankles and legs this would be perfect. Seems really durable.Read Best Reviews of Keen Women's Shelby High Casual Boot Here
I swear these boots are even more comfortable than my sneakers! Right out if the box I wore them to work for a 9 hour day standing and it was amazing!!! I love the look, a little rugged sole, but it kinda adds to the keen-ish charm!! Very practical, warm, comfortable, and fit true to size for me. I'm an 8 always and bought the 8 despite some reviewers saying they ran small and I'm happy I stuck with my gut. Great boot all around!!! Love!Want Keen Women's Shelby High Casual Boot Discount?
I'm fond of these boots. One might even go so far as to say that I'm keen on them (see what I've done here? I'm in the wrong line of work for sure). They are, indeed, made for walking. This review had aspirations towards wit, but sadly... Ah well, it's good to want things, innit. I wanted these boots, for example, and now I've got them and funnily enough, I still want them. Perhaps you might want them too. Hurrah.
