I needed some "authentic" 19th century shoes for my stints as a quiltmaker from that century who lived on the prairie. Boots are fine but not when the weather is hot. So I bought my shoe size,thinking that lightweight socks underneath would cushion. Wrong! Buy a size larger. I have high arches and found it difficult to tie these over my instep, Also they were generally tight so I couldn't wear socks and found the seams a rubbing annoyance.

they are really cute, and the rubber insoles are super comfortable (if your walking on a smooth surface) but the beading came loose within the first month, and back part of the shoe sags in an unflattering way.

Very comfortable. I love to wear these around the house and even out the door when my feet need a rest from regular shoes, but I still need something more than a "slipper" (like at work!) They fit perfect and make my feet happy.

I have worn these shoes so much. Very comfortable and look cute. The length was as expected. They are loose on the sides and around the ankle though, at least on my foot and I have quite small ankles. They do have a soft sole so that means when it rains, or when walking on a wet surface, the cushion on the inside will absorb moisture so your feet will get wet. And being soft sole, they also have no tread. I have had these shoes for 3 years I think and still wear them. The material has stretched a bit from wear so they fit lose now, yet they are still comfortable.
