I have been shopping for the right shade of grey and the right style boot for over a year and these are absolutely perfect! The leather is soft, supple and beautiful, and the hardware is high quality and functional. The zipper zips all the way down making it super easy to get in and out of the boot and best of all no dreaded bunched up jeans! I have two pairs a size 9 boots from Steve Madden and purchased these in a 9 too and the fit is identical. The shaft of this boot is very tall, 16.75" which is exactly what I need (I'm 5'9") the top of the boot hits me right beneath the knee cap. The footbed is a bit narrow and the insole is fairly flat but overall I found these boots very comfortable...even after a 12 hour day on my feet! Do yourself a favor and buy these boots now!

I cannot say enough good about this boot. I wear about 1/2 size smaller in all boots and this fit true. For instance, I wear 9 1/2 in shoes but a 9 in boots. This size 9 fit perfect. I love my new gray boots. I did order a 1/2 size down per the reviews. They fit great and look good with jeans, pants and skirts. I am very happy with this boot. I wore it out of the box and had no problem walking across the city for two consecutive days. The leather is a very rich color and appears to be of high quality.The boot does run a little big as I sometimes lean toward an 8.5 in more narrow dress shoes but had plenty of room in the 8. My feet are very flat and a little wide but the regular width was just fine and I had plenty of room across the width of my toes. I have a 15.5" calf and the opening was only slightly snug when worn with skinny jeans. Despite my large calf, I have very small ankles so other boots often bunch in this area. This boot fits the ankle nicely and the adjustable ankle strap provides additional fit options.

They sell these same boots at Nordstrom/other Department stores for about $50-$75 more so I went with this seller on Amazon. I was on the hunt for black boots with gold hardware and these seemed to get pretty good reviews & for the price I figured why not. The shipping was fast--the boots arrived quick and nicely packaged in a huge orange box. However the quality of this boot is disappointing. Right out of the box certain parts of the boot (mainly where the straps are) were peeling (straight out of the box!) The quality of these isn't horrible--I suppose you get what you pay for. I've worn them at least 10-15 x now and they continue to deteriorate. I'm not really giving them any hard wear & tear I wear them to work/running errands. I will say though that the traction on these boots is fantastic--I've worn them in the rain & the snow and you can definitely stand your ground and won't slip. I also like that these boots are roomy enough for jeans/heavy socks without having a huge gap between your leg/pants. I'm 5'6 and they hit perfectly below the knee. However, next time I would sacrifice paying a little more for a better quality boot. I don't see these lasting more than one season--they don't hold up too well.
