I bought the boots from RL Direct and found sadly that they are not Shearling lined as stated. They are lined with synthetic fleece.

This was a big let down as I specifically was looking for boots lined with real Shearling.

RL said they would correct it on their site, but word has not got to Amazon.com as yet.

These are very comfortable and stylish boots. They run true to size.

The lining is very soft and warm.

It's nice to find good looking (not bulky), well made and warm boots.

These boots look attractive in the photos on Ralph Lauren's website. However, be warned that the lining is synthetic, NOT shearling. If you pull back the fibers on the lining you will see a fabric backing. Pull a few fibers out and do a simple burn test. If you do this carefully the end of the fibers will melt into a hard and dark ball. This is what happens when you burn a synthetic fiber. If you do the same burn test with real wool, it will turn black and crumble in your hand.

The cuff is the only part of the boot that utilizes real shearling.

This was an extreme disappointment, as I expected the Ralph Lauren company to have more integrity than to misrepresent their products in this manner. When I contacted customer service to complain about the misleading ad, first they said it was authentic shearling, then after further emails, they told me it was "faux" shearling. The text of the ad and the product label that comes with the boot further suggests that the company knew what it was doing.

I doubt I will buy from the Ralph Lauren website again.

Love these boots, very warm for cold damp winters and have a classic rugged look with a little feminine style. They are a little bulky for me, but they are super cozy and make up for it. Love the shearling interior however I believe the cuff is faux but still fun. I looked them up on them up on the Ralph Lauren webpage and they only state the interior as being shearling for anyone that is curious. My only dissapointment is that shortly after purchasing these I did find them for less on other retail sites, including Ralph Lauren.

Fantastic design and quality. Very warm on foot. Just run a little bit small in size should buy a size 5.5 or 6 if your feet are size 5.
