I bought these boots looking for a simple durable and cheap solution to the winter cold. I admit i probably walk more than most and these boots are not normally meant for miles in the snow but i did not expect them to fail so poorly. I liked their unassuming style which is hard to find in a warm boot, but the fabric/faux suede product is very thin, flimsy and cheap looking in person. The fit is snug at the top around the calf, and as other reviewers have mentioned, anyone with a less than thin sized calf will run into some fit issues there. The shaft itself is roomy which is in contrast to the snugness of the top, and when you try and tighten the bottom laces to make up for the excessive looseness, it looked odd and scrunched. At the back of the heel there is a hard rounded "cup" to where your heel should be, but isn't because of the length of the boot and toe roomyness, which may be my issue with buying a too big boot. But nonetheless, you would need to break that stiff cardboard with some wear before it becomes comfortable. Overall, the idea is cool, the style is interesting and worthy but the execution is lacking. I would have liked to see much more durability in the fabric choice, better fit for multiple sizes and a greater effort for a "true fit"; all of which applies whether you would wear them in the summer to bar or in the winter on a hike.

I was very disappointed with these boots. They look great, however if you have a wider foot/calf i would not recommend them because they more than likely will not stretch or give.

These boots just arrived and I really like them! I love the casual style and the fit is great. There is some extra toe room which is probably because of the style. I ordered the dark brown color and think I should've ordered the black because its a more versatile color which is why I rated these four stars instead of five. Regardless, I'll keep them.

These boots fit perfectly. I have large calves and they pull on with no problem, even have a little room to spare! They're comfortable to walk in, didn't need much breaking in at all! Been looking for these boots FOREVER, so glad Amazon had them. Definitely worth the buy!
