I. LOVE. THIS. BOOT. Like the previous reviewer said, this boot is made of extremely soft leather. It feels luxurious to wear, and the liner is soft, warm, and doesn't get clammy (unlike some non-leather boots I have owned). It fits true to size. I normally wear a 9.5 in shoes or a 9.0 in boots; my boyfriend got me these in a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I tried the 9.0 on in store, and they fit a little more snug-ly all over, but were still comfortable. Overall, I think the 9.5 is a better choice. I am tall (5'11) and have slender calves, and this boot is a perfect fit through the leg--although the shaft doesn't come to my knee, it looks great as-is. (Not like it's supposed to come to my knee and doesn't.) What I love most is the high quality of construction and materials. This boot will last many years, and is simple enough that it will never go out of style. A great investment buy for yourself, or a great gift for the boot-loving lady in your life.
UPDATE 1/13/2011
Still love the style of this boot, but here's the problem: The right heel cap popped off after just a few uses! I wore the boot for day to day walking (~2 miles per day) on paved surfaces, and somewhere around day 10 or 12, the soft rubber cap popped off inexplicably, causing the hard plastic heel to wear and making walking uncomfortable. When I contacted La Canadienne to have the heel replaced, or to replace the boots, or to reimburse me for doing one of the same, I was told (politely but firmly) that it is AGAINST La Canadienne policy to:
1. Repair boots, even if under warranty
2. Pay for the repair of boots, even if under warranty
3. Replace boots they will not repair, even if under warranty
However, they did offer to repair the boots for me (even though it is not their policy) IF I paid to ship them to their factory in Canada. That's more expensive than replacing the heel cap locally! So, sadly, it looks like the search for the perfect waterproof boot for the urban city dweller continues...

This is the first time I have ordered La Canadienne boots. I was hesitant at first because of the price, but I found them on sale from a seller at Amazon and decided to make the purchase.
They seem elegant and well made.
I am petite, 5'2," and the boot shaft ends just 2 inches below my knee. My calves are 13 and 3/4" circumferance. The boot hugs my calf without any gap. The leather is smooth and supple. I love the cute heel.
I usually wear a 7 1/2 shoe, and size 7 boot. I ordered these in a size 7 and they fit perfectly. I would highly recommend these boots if you are petite and are not set on something that goes all the way to the knee, or has too high of a heel.

I ordered this boot for its small calf opening. It does have a slim shaft (which could still be a tad tighter at the top), and the shaft isn't too high, so if you petite and have thin legs, this is a good choice. The leather is remarkably soft, like glove leather. Although the heel is fairly low, its kitten shape and the fitted shaft make these boots look dressy enough to wear with skirts and dresses. My only complaint is that the ankle area is really snug, but given how soft the leather is, it will probably loosen up over time.

so luckily it fits my small calves but I do not have regular sized calves... they are super snug so beware of this before buying.

Oh my... how comfortable are these boots! If your calves are around 14", the size 8 Ramona would fit impeccably. Amazon's customer service is the best! And these boots arrived before the estimated date.
