i just got these shoes today and LOOOOOOOOOOVE it. i bought this through shoebuy and this was shipped from the minnetonka HQ at minnesota! yea i got the real thing all right. LOL

1. QUALITY/MAKE-very very well made with excellent suede, tough even stitching throughout and good thin rubber traction. Very lightweight considering this is suede material. NOT made in china which is amazing. My pair is made in dominican republic and quality definitely shows. i can see my minnetonkas lasting for several years!

2. STYLE :D i saw few ladies pictured online in several minnetonka style boots and noted the versatility of them. These can be worn with prarie skirts and ditzy floral or denim jumper dresses which i love. it took me awhile to finally decide to get a minnetonka b/c i worried my ankles would look like cankles with them or would overwhelming on me--i am not a skinny leg chick unfortunately and i am only 5'3....hence i did NOT get a minnetonka with a shaft more than 7 in. (the lace-up minnetonkas which are so cute too). i eyed on this one in particular b/c it is an ankle bootie which i wanted. i also love the fringe and shoelace which gives it that authenticity and great detail. I live in FL so i dont feel this looks over-the-top as almost no one wears any boot/ankle boot here. LOL

3. FORM description mentions this is hardsole but picture doesnt show it. the hardsole is rubber and is on the exterior (i thought it would be interior since i cant see it in the pic). yes it is thin but i feel the thinness is enough (as thin as those canvas keds shoes)....dont expect sole thick like tennis shoes cause these arent that! lol.

4. SIZE i have wide feet so i can wear 7.5 or 7 depending on shoe. i got 7 for this and it fits wonderfully. i worried my feet would look big in this but NOPE! i wear ankle socks w/my minnetonkas and fit is a tad snug.

I picked the brand with the hard soles because I wanted to wear them outside. The soles are very, very thin and unless you just plan on going to the mailbox they will not be comfortable. The leather is flimsy also. I will use them for houseshoes.

Ordered these on a Saturday night and just received them today (Wednesday). VERY fast shipping. Came straight from Minnesota. I'm glad I read the reviews recommending sizing down. I am normally between an 8.5 and 9, so I bought the 8.5. They are still very roomy, and I probably could have gone down to an 8, but now I can wear fuzzy socks with them once it gets colder. So far, I love them! I opted for the hardsole version because I felt weird about wearing sole-less suede shoes. They hit me right around my ankle bone (just slightly above) and don't give me cankles or anything. I was on the fence about these for MONTHS, and I wish I had gotten them sooner. Thankfully, it's just the beginning of Fall now, so I'll have lots of time to wear them.
