I wore these shoes and received many compliments on the styling. They ran bigger than I expected but thought it wasn't a deal breaker. However, within 3 hours, the strap broke in the back. The quality of leather was very poor and I'll be seeing what I can do to fix it. This is a great boot! There are a few little hiccups (hence the 4 stars instead of the 5). I have a higher arch and thus it makes it much harder to slip this boot on and off..loosening the straps has helped with this issue. I also did not find the foot bed as comfortable as some other reviewers, but again, I think this will be an easy fix with some cushion insoles. I bought this boot in Black with the brown leather straps and love the colors together! It makes it so versatile! I can wear them with so many things in my wardrobe. Some reviewers mentioned the flimsy leather straps, I didn't find to be so bad, they were thin, yes, but it made it easier to adjust the straps that way. For me, this boot was very true to size. I ordered a 6.5 and it fit just right. I don't feel as though I can wear a thick sock with it, but I wouldn't want to size up. I absolutely love these shoes. The fit is amazing they are the most comfortable heels I have ever bought. They're also true to size I'm usually a 7 and with cheaper brands / designers I notice I have to get a 6.5, they seem to be made for bigger feet. These are a 7 and they fit perfectly, even on my flat feet.

they are made in china. Yes, they are very nice but honestly, I would not be willing to spent $350 if I knew where they were made. I also find it very frustrating that Frye Company, even on their own website, most of the time will not specify where the boots are made. About a week ago, I called about another pair, Frye Donna Snap Short, and spent 15 minutes on hold, until a representative went to 'make sure' where they were made. Oh, yes, these are made in China too. I was advised by the representative that only Frye's 'core lines' are made in the US. I was happy to find that these boots were not glossy (the picture seemed lighter and shiny) but a rich dark grey that will show wear as a natural leather ought to. If you are familiar with Dr Martin products this is a typical style with a unique color that is quite attractive without being "flashy". Quality stitched soles and heavy duty eyelets. Comfy and rugged. The rear pull tab is sturdy, and there is a lace hole in the tongue to keep it from slipping. The insole is minimal but after a break in period I will put in my own to suit, so I really don't mind. This was my first Dr. Marten shoe and it made my feet look extremely small. The toe box in this shoe is very tall and has a ton of extra room for your toes. I did not like the way I looked in these shoes although the shoes themselves look good. Quality was great and would buy again if they looked better on me, but that should not deter others.

Just got these boots before a trip. I got LOTS of complements on them. They look more expensive than they are. I was able to walk around for hours in these babies. That's not to say that my feet didn't ache after that but they were a bit more comfortable than my other heels. The only criticism I have is that they did run a bit big. I ordered a 7.5, because that's what I normally wear, and I could have definitely gone down half a size. I also wish the leg opening was a little smaller. A little too wide for my taste. I love the height of the boot. Because I'm short, I have to be careful not to have a boot that hits my leg too high. But this leaves just the right amount of leg showing. These boots are very stylish and comfortable, which is exactly what I was looking for, however the Tan is much lighter in person than in the picture. I probably would have ordered the darker brown color had I known they would be so much lighter. They also scruff very very easily. I wore them once and they toe is already scruffed up. Would this prevent me from buying them again? probably not, because like I said, the style and comfort level are what I was looking for.

These boots are so cute. I haven't worn them in the snow yet but I needed boots for very cold weather and wouldn't let my feet freeze and get soggy when we get a foot of snow without looking too big and obnoxious. Really liked the look of these boots, and they would've been perfect if the footbed had some padding and support...felt like walking on concrete. Also there is no way to loosen or tighten the stretch bands on the back. Tried to put in other foot pad but because nothing opens up it's a very tight fit, and couldn't get it to fit correctly. The boots are easy to get on, but a real workout to get off. Also they seem to run a bit large... True to size, however I bought 0.5 size bigger so that I can wear thick socks and still wriggle my toes. Boots are very comfy and light, whether it will withstand the wet & cold winter will remain to be seen. Do note that the colour of the boots turns out to be black instead of dark grey as seen in the picture.
